At Bama, we believe that opportunities can change lives. For team member Joel, a partnership between Bama and Green Country Habitat for Humanity helped turn a lifelong dream into reality.
After overcoming addiction and years of housing instability, Joel worked hard to rebuild his life and create a stable future. Homeownership was a goal he had carried for years, but it often felt out of reach. That changed when he learned about Habitat’s homeownership program through a Bama-sponsored informational event.
Joel embraced the opportunity, completed the program requirements, and discovered he had already saved enough for a down payment. He chose a home in the Whittier Townhomes community and achieved his goal of becoming a first-time homeowner before turning 40.
Along the way, he gained valuable financial and homeownership knowledge through Habitat’s educational classes, and found support from people who genuinely wanted to see him succeed.
Today, Joel’s story is a powerful example of resilience, determination, and the impact community partnerships can have on changing lives. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishment and grateful for organizations like Green Country Habitat for Humanity that help make stories like his possible.
