B Corp Certification

The B Corp certification is a huge accomplishment for Bama. This achievement allows others to see the culture we have been cultivating here at Tulsa-based Bama Companies, Inc. since 1937.

Bama endured an 18 month long process, during which all of our processes were reviewed and scrutinized in order to ensure that we met the highest standards for social and environmental ethics, transparency, and accountability.

Why Did We Go For Our B Corp Certification?

Bama desires to build on their mission of “People Helping People be Successful,” while celebrating our 80th anniversary and moving into the 4th generation of family leadership.

Bama believes business has a higher purpose than simply profit. Bama has always practiced these initiatives as a way to differentiate ourselves in the market, and now, with B Corp certification, can transparently benchmark and measure the impact we have with our team members, suppliers, customers, community, and environment.

The heart of achieving certification is a rigorous process that evaluates company mission, employment practices, governance structure, social impact and environmental stewardship. The assessment gives companies like us a framework to measure our success.

With this certification, we have solidified ourselves as being a company that cares for our people, our partners, and the planet. Our goal, as well as other B Corps, is “Not to be just the best in the world, but the best for the world.”

The B Corp Community

The B Corp community is made up of 2,200 companies in over 50 countries representing more than 140 industries with the unifying goal to redefine the role of business. Certified B Corporations are purpose-driven leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good.

Bama has always been an agent for change.

We strive to have higher quality jobs, improve the quality of life in our community, address challenging social and environmental problems, and aim to inspire others to do the same and measure what matters.
