Healthy employees are good for business
At Bama our focus is to improve the health and quality of life of our team members and their families. To do this we have developed a comprehensive health promotion strategy that encompasses a variety of health and wellness resources. Free onsite health clinic, fitness centers, wellness programming, and chronic condition management are just a few of the ways Bama is investing in our number one resource, our people. In return, healthy employees mean higher productivity, lower costs for Bama, and higher quality of life for our team and their families.
Bama Family Clinic
The Bama Family Clinic opened in August 2007, free to all Bama employees and their families. Our onsite clinic offers a variety of services ranging from preventive to acute care and chiropractic therapy. Providing an onsite health clinic gives Bama the opportunity to reach out to those most in need. Individuals or families who may not typically seek care now have a convenient, cost effective way to do so. In addition, the clinic also performs personal health assessments annually for all employees and spouses, and partners with Coventry chronic condition management program for more robust care. Over the last year utilization of Bama Family clinic reached 60% and is expected to increase in the years to come. One satisfied patient stated “It’s great to have a nice doctor who will take the time to talk to you and listen to you. I now have a family doctor again.”
Bama Fitness Centers
We currently have three fitness centers, one at each of our Tulsa manufacturing facilities, available free of charge to our employees and their families. Also available to our employees and their familes are three personal trainers and occasional fitness classes.
Workplace Safety Program
Our two hour, interactive Backsafe training class is delivered to all of our employees within their first 30 days of employment. To ensure continued safety, refresher class are delivered annually. Also, our trained team members lead a stretching program prior to each shift in our manufacturing facilities. Additionally, we complete ergonomic evaluations in all of our facilities.
