Tulsa, OK. -- In an effort to draw on consumers' desires for indulgent comfort bakery foods, The Bama Companies, Inc. has reintroduced its Bama Original Pecan Pie to the retail snack market.
In line with the Product introduction, Bama has entered a licensing agreement with Table Talk Pies of Worcester, Mass., which will use the brand name and formula in exchange for royalty fees. Bama will retain ownership of the brand and recipe.
Table Talk originally developed the 4-inch pecan pie bearing the Bama Original Pecan Pie brand name and logo and will have responsibility for manufacturing, marketing and merchandising the pies. Table Talk primarily is known for its fruit pies.
"This is a unique program, a quality pecan pie snack, using Bama's original formula and marketed by Table Talk," said Tom Rooney, vice-president of sales and marketing, Table Talk.
The 3.25-oz, 4-inch pies are larger than their 3-inch predecessor. The Pies contain a flaky shortening crust, dark Karo syrup filling, and chopped pecan pieces. Thirty-count display cases for retail counters or 60-count shipper packs for end caps are available.
Currently, the Bama Original Pecan Pie is in limited distribution in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Table Talk said it plans to expand distribution into convenience and grocery stores in the southern United States.
